Porto Water Innovation Week 2017
For seven days, the City of Porto, in Portugal, will become the European capital of water and innovation. A set of three major events will gather over 1000 participants, including decision makers and technicians of utilities, political leaders, regulators, industry and agriculture representatives, investigators, tech companies, startups, SME’s and investors.
International leading voices and thought-leaders on water and innovation will discuss the key answers to the questions we now face in the water sector, under the EIP Water Conference 2017. Another conference, named Mayors & Water Conference 2017, will focus on Urban Water Agenda (2030) and show the innovative and sustainable water solutions implemented in cities. For students and young professionals, Water Innovation Lab (WIL) Europe Porto 2017 intends to shape the leaders of the future.
The common initiative for these three main events, which are deployed in various activities, is called Water & People and is composed of a set of actions aimed at involving the general population in the theme of "Water and Innovation", namely street animation and performing arts in Porto downtown and AquaPorto - Water Festival 2017 in the City Park. Get ready for the surprises about to come!
IMPREX will take part in the side event "Boosting Research & Innovation in the Water Sector: The Impact of EU-funded actions".
This side event – as part of the Porto Water Innovation Week – will bring together water-related EU funded actions to discuss innovation in the water sector and address the different aspects and challenges of maximising its impacts.
Stakeholders participating to different EU programmes and initiatives will share their achievements and experiences. They will highlight key enabling factors and barriers for research and innovation actions to reach the market, as well as to support policy making.
Other relevant stakeholders such as, investors, regulators, policy makers, innovation hubs, industrial partners and SMEs will join the discussion and bring forward their views and perspectives.
The event is organised by the European Commission's Directorate General for Research and Innovation and the Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME) in collaboration with the EIP Water.
